Among LPN schools in Michigan, Lansing Community College in Lansing, offers a Career Ladder Program in Nursing, which consists of three levels of study and takes two years to complete. However, only Level I and Level II are required to gain entitlement to work as an LPN. These first two levels encompass the PN Program, and will require 21-25 hours of General Eduacation and 23 hours of required courses. The completion of this program will earn students a Certificate of Achievement, as well as grant eligibiltiy to take the National Council Licensing Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN). Upon passing this exam, students will then be entitled to practice as an LPN. Attending a Pre-Nursing Advising Seminar is mandatory to gain acceptance into the Nursing school, and the Nursing Application Checklist provided at the session must be signed by an advisor and submitted with the Program application. The Program is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing, and is nationally accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
